Spotting is minimal bleeding between your regular periods. If you are pregnant, there is a small risk that something might be wrong, so check with your doctor. Keep in mind however, that many women who notice spotting in the beginning of a pregnancy go on to have perfectly healthy babies. Spotting could also be a sign of pregnancy or ovulation. Other causes of spotting include vaginal infections, hormonal fluctuations, using or quitting oral contraceptives, low thyroid levels, the use of IUDs and Chlamydia infection! Try to find out what the cause of your spotting is so that you can rule out any potential problems such as those listed above.
