Female Hygiene & How To Stay Fresh

From puberty onwards, you’ll probably think more about how often to wash and what products to use – and not just because of periods.
For one thing, you’ll sweat in places you didn’t before. This sweat can smell stronger, especially in areas like your groin and underarms. Whatever the time of month, feeling clean helps with confidence, so you’ll want to find a personal hygiene routine that’s right for you.
However heavy or light your period is, you might feel a little less fresh than on non-bleed days – this isn’t because blood is dirty, or smells bad: during your period hormonal changes , blood and discharge can alter your vulva and vagina’s pH levels. This can change your smell and sometimes increase your chance of bacterial infection. So what are the best ways to keep your intimate area feeling good?

These will need to be changed more frequently when your flow is at its heaviest – usually the first two days of your period. At night, a special towel designed for sleep will mean you won’t worry about leaking onto nightclothes or bedding, whatever the position you choose to snooze.
